Overview and Responsibilities
Provides leadership and facilitates communication with various hospital departments by assuring timely, accurate, efficient and appropriate performance and reporting of patient information to encourage continuous quality improvement in patient services. Supervises both clerical and professional staff. This position is under the direct supervision of the Administrative Director. Incumbent is responsible for 24 hours/day, 7 days/week; on site 8 hours/day, 5 days/week subject to overtime and call back as required.
Implements technical and safety policies for department.
Monitors compliance with hospital accreditation and regulatory agencies.
Develops budgetary goals plan.
Monitors expenditures and justifies variances.
Advises and directs staff.
Oversees or interviews potential employees
Develops and/or approves schedules
Evaluates performance improvement
Knowledge of hospital FDA, AABB, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA requirements.
## Bachelor's Degree and completion of AMA approved Program for medical technology.
Advanced technical and managerial skills as acquired by 8 - 10 years experience in medical technology, at least 4 - 6 years in supervisor capacity.
ASCP or equivalent certification; ASCP preferred
