Child Nutrition Team Leader Major Functions:
To serve the students, faculty and guests of the DeSoto County School District attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities may be assigned, including but not limited to:
Preparation and Production:
Measure, mix, cut, dice, slice, stir, bake, boil, braise, and steam ingredients according to written recipes using a variety of commercial kitchen equipment.
Assembly food items in advance for offsite service.
Inspect food and equipment throughout the preparation and cooking process.
Service:
Distribute meals politely according to nutrition regulations.
Cashier and receive payments according to nutrition & finance regulations.
Cleaning & Sanitation:
Performed throughout each day.
Clean work areas, flat & vertical surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
Wipe down serving lines completely between classes or meal periods.
Wipe down dining room tables between classes or meal periods.
Sweep and mop the dining room and storage room floors.
Sweep, mop, and deck scrub kitchen floors and restrooms.
Operate commercial dish machine.
Setup and operate a standard three compartment pot & pan sink.
Dispose of garbage and sanitize receptacles.
Storage:
Stock & rotate cold and dry items from deliveries in a neat and efficient manner.
Remove items from cold or dry storage in a safe manner.
Count and write quantities of inventory items on usage sheets.
Assist Child Nutrition Team Leader during the Physical Inventory process as needed.
Safety:
Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary facility at all times.
Report any repairs and safety hazards immediately to immediate supervisor.
Understand & follow all HACCP SOP's appropriately.
Equipment:
Computer, email, telephone, a variety of industrial food production and service equipment, refrigeration and hot food holding equipment, floor care and cleaning products, carts, mops, brooms, dusters, spray bottles, and brushes.
Must be able to:
Walk and/or stand for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
Safely lift and handle up to 50 pounds.
Twist, bend, sit, squat, kneel, pull, and stand during repetitive tasks.
Get along with other employees, supervisors, students, and visitors.
Understand and follow routine oral and written instructions and work schedules.
Understand and follow all safety precautions related to cleaning materials and equipment.
Competence for learning assigned duties including but not limited to cashiering.
